Sue Ozdemir

One of the world’s proven leaders in the innovation and manufacturing of electric motors, Sue has nearly a decade of accomplishments at General Electric and now leads Exro, a company transforming electric motors and battery storage systems for the world’s electric future.

Building on her childhood passion for repairing electric motors in the family business, Sue joined GE in Calgary and went on to run sales for GE’s Small Industrial Motors Division in Canada, North America, and international markets. She was quickly promoted to CCO and then CEO of that GE Division, ultimately building it into a $160-million enterprise that she helped GE sell to Wolong Electric.

Sue then took on the role of CEO of Exro Technologies, which is changing the way electric motors and batteries have traditionally worked. At Exro she has catalyzed a period of exceptional growth, raising over $50 million dollars, starting a manufacturing operation in Calgary and Exro facilities in the United States. During this period Exro has also secured numerous co-development and commercialization partners in the EV mobility space.

In 2020, Sue was appointed by The National Electrical Manufacturers Association to be its first chair of its newly created Automotive Component Council.

Sue has an Executive Master of Business Admiration degree, with a specialization in international business, from the University of Fredericton, in New Brunswick, Canada.
